Agreement on Cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation
The Agreement shall contribute to the realization of common interests in the field of promotion of science, support for young talents and encouragement of entrepreneurship
The Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia and the Miodrag Kostić Endowment have signed an Agreement on Cooperation, which includes joint activities on the promotion of scientific and technological achievements and scientific and research organizations. The agreement will enable the presentation of innovative activities through the Show Lab exhibition space, located in the Palace of Science, and special attention will be paid to the BIO4 Campus Project.
„The Miodrag Kostić Endowment devoted energy, strength and the idea to give Belgrade the Palace of Science, a place where science will address the citizens. Today we signed an Agreement on much deeper cooperation. On the one hand, the Palace of Science will serve our scientific and research organizations to organize conferences, workshops and to communicate science, and on the other hand, we as a Ministry will be able to display our big projects and projects for the future, such as the BIO4 Campus, said Dr. Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
„The Cooperation Agreement that we signed is extremely important, because it will contribute to the promotion and popularization of science. Through all joint activities, the Miodrag Kostić Endowment, the future Palace of Science, and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation will support young talents to grow and develop, but also to make new discoveries with their ideas that may change the world as we know it today. Smart cities, machine learning, Internet of Things, robotics, virtual reality have become part of our everyday life thanks to scientific research and advanced technology. I believe that with this cooperation we will inspire young people to use the achievements of modern science in everything they do, regardless of whether they will become researchers themselves”, said Nemanja Đorđević, manager of the Miodrag Kostić Endowment.
The Miodrag Kostić Endowment, the Palace of Science, will open its doors to all visitors at the end of the year in a magnificent building at the corner of Kralja Milana and Knez Miloša streets, in the center of Belgrade. With this capital philanthropic gift of 25 million euros, Miodrag Kostić wants to leave lasting value to the peoples of these areas, providing the opportunity for scientists and researchers to develop their careers in their country. In addition to more than 30 interactive exhibits and a planetarium, the Miodrag Kostić Endowment will also house 19 research centers managed by professors from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade. The Cooperation Agreement signed with the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation foresees the realization of conferences and lectures in the premises of the Palace of Science, cooperation with the Center for the Promotion of Science and the encouragement of research and innovation in Serbia.
