The lecture provides an overview of the key functionalities of modern ADMS systems that are transforming the way distribution network management is managed today.
Through concrete examples such as FLISR (fault location, isolation, and service restoration), voltage and reactive power optimization (VVO/DSDR), adaptive protection, DER management, and support during extreme weather events, it will be demonstrated how control centers can achieve a higher level of automation, reliability, and efficiency. The aim of the lecture is to show how these advanced functions influence real-time decision-making and why they form the foundation for the further development of an “intelligent” distribution network.
