This lecture will offer all interested participants the opportunity to explore how generative artificial intelligence is reshaping the artistic landscape, positioning art as a creative medium that transcends traditional digital tools.
Through examples of AI art generators – which allow users to transform text into visual artworks – we will examine emerging definitions of creativity and authorship. These technologies not only expand the boundaries of artistic expression but also raise important ethical questions about the human role in the creative process.
We will also revisit historical moments of resistance to technological change – such as the advent of photography – to better understand whether and how AI may serve as a catalyst for transforming existing art forms and inspiring entirely new ones.
The lecture is free, and will be held in the Word hall.
