Climate changes right before your eyes

Klimatske promene

What is actually happening to Earth’s climate, and why has this topic become one of the key issues of the modern world? Climate change is no longer something that belongs to the distant future, but a process unfolding right in front of us, increasingly shaping the living conditions on our planet. This Friday, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Đurđević will speak to us about how human society has altered the balance of the climate system and why our planet is warming at an unprecedented rate. Rapid warming brings more frequent and intense weather and climate extremes, from record-high temperatures and heatwaves to droughts, wildfires, extreme precipitation, floods, and powerful storms. Unfortunately, we are not the only ones feeling the consequences, as they are and how noticeable in the oceans, seas, and all other ecosystems. By re-examining the way we perceive climate change, this will be an opportunity to understand why the world has hesitated for so long to seriously confront this problem, as well as what options are still available to us.
