More than a Game

Thanks to the exhibition More than a Game, we will discover how video games have evolved from simple arcade entertainment—something you will also be able to experience firsthand by playing Space Invaders on an original arcade machine—into one of the most important cultural and social phenomena of our time. You will explore titles that, while fun, were not created solely for amusement. More than a Game will be the place where, instead of buying skins and creating virtual avatars, you can use AI technology to design your unique gaming portrait and discover what you would look like in your favorite video game.

Date

September 2025 – June 2026

The exhibition will offer all visitors the chance to see how selected games can influence social change, raise ecological awareness, or serve as platforms for developing digital literacy. In the final section of the exhibition, you will learn to recognize the mechanics of video games that drive nearly every app on your phone. With the help of a specially designed application, you will also learn how to gamify everyday activities and discover how patterns from video games can become your allies and tools for learning, personal development, and better organization.

If you want to explore the journey from the golden age of video games and home consoles to today’s games and applications, don’t miss More than a Game, realized thanks to the partnership between the Palace of Science and the organization Play.
