If you have ever looked up at the sky and wondered what mysteries lie among the stars, this course is the perfect way to begin your journey through the universe. On the Trail of the Stars is a beginner’s astronomy course designed for anyone who wants to step into the world of celestial bodies, galaxies, planets, and the secrets the universe holds—no prior knowledge required.
In two interactive modules, on June 21 and 28 at the Palace of Science Planetarium, participants will have the chance to learn the basics of astronomy through inspiring lectures and planetarium projections. The course is led by Branko Simonović, a long-time science popularizer, who will guide us through stories and practical insights into this fascinating science.
Topics covered will include astrogony (introduction to constellations and star names), the structure of the Solar System and exoplanets, an introduction to stellar astronomy, the universe on a large scale with a look at cosmology, as well as the basics of observational astronomy and working with telescopes.
The course is designed to provide a solid and engaging foundation for further exploration of the cosmos—through knowledge, but also through a shared sense of wonder about the universe.
Join us, look up to the sky, and let’s take the first steps together along the Milky Way.
The course will be held at the Planetarium.
