Another Award for the Miodrag Kostić Endowment Project

The Miodrag Kostić Endowment Project has won a prestigious award at the 47th Architecture Salon for the best architectural project in Serbia. We are especially proud to highlight that the reconstruction and interior design of the Palace of Science has been recognized and awarded by the most esteemed institutions in the field of architecture in our country — the Museum of Applied Arts, the Association of Architects of Serbia, and the Association of Serbian Architectural Practices.

This distinguished architectural accolade affirms one of the key goals of the reconstruction — to create a space where science and art not only coexist, but also intertwine.
“One of the greatest challenges, aside from preserving the cultural and historical value of this building, which is over a hundred years old, was creating a pleasant atmosphere where the rich architecture of the 20th century blends with the contemporary legacy the founder wished to leave to society. The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between the timeless value of artworks — sculptures by Toma Rosandić, Petar Palaviccini, and Lojze Dolinar, as well as paintings by Jaša Rankl — and a modern concept that carries a message for the future. The award proves that we succeeded in creating a space where art and architecture not only complement one another, but also speak the language of enduring cultural heritage and a visionary endowment,” said Aleksandra Stojanović, Director of the Palace of Science project.

This recognition is considered one of the highest acknowledgments of architectural achievement in Serbia and a confirmation of the strong foundation and vision behind the Palace of Science.
