Open Call for the International Microbe Art Contest 2026

Umetnost mikroba 2026

To mark the upcoming International Microorganism Day, celebrated on 17 September, the Palace of Science – Miodrag Kostić Endowment, in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGI), University of Belgrade, invites students, children, artists and everyone passionate about science and creativity to join the global Microbe Art Contest 2026.

This international contest uses art to reveal the beauty, diversity and importance of the microscopic world. Whether you create agar art, draw, paint, take photographs, make videos, write or produce three-dimensional pieces, your work can become part of a worldwide meeting of science and creativity.
Microorganisms support our health, shape our microbiome, help produce food and sustain life on Earth. Choose a category and show us the microscopic world as you see it.
