This autumn, the Palace of Science is honored to host Science Fest (Fête de la Science), a festival that has been bringing together scientists, educators, researchers, and citizens around the world for more than three decades. First held in France in 1991, the festival aims to make science and research accessible to everyone and encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology.
The central theme of this year’s Science Fest is food, its significance, and its role in contemporary society. Under the slogan Tasteful Science, we will explore a number of questions: Where does the food on your plate come from? Who produced it, and how? And is the price we pay for food also its only cost?
With this in mind, a panel discussion for educators will be held at the Palace of Science on October 7, opening with the question What Will We Eat Tomorrow? Through a conversation with the panelists, we will explore how climate change is affecting the ways we produce food and our eating habits, as well as what these changes mean from medical, environmental, and economic perspectives.
The panel will be held in English.
This year’s Science Fest is organized in cooperation with the French Institute in Serbia, the Institute for Medical Research, and the Center for the Promotion of Science.
