The exhibition Second Skin presents innovative biodegradable sensors made from food by-products, designed for monitoring health conditions. The project bridges contemporary art and scientific research, exploring how technology and artistic expression together can illuminate the body as an ever-changing ecosystem.
Inspired by the work of Prof. Dr Goran Stojanović, whose polymer structures and smart materials advance the development of sustainable biosensors, the exhibition invites reflection on how our internal and external signals alert us to change and potential risk. Rather than focusing solely on technology, the display emphasizes an empathetic understanding of the body—its limits, vulnerabilities, and remarkable capacity to adapt.
The artistic segment follows—and resonates with—the scientific principles of sensing, across different poetics and disciplines, highlighting the interconnection of art and science. Through this dialogue, the exhibition explores new forms of protection and sensitivity, inviting visitors to consider how science detects and recognizes, while art senses change in the body and the environment.
