If you missed the "Null Hypothesis": take a peek at the exhibition through the transcripts of expert guides

During April 2026, the exhibition "Null Hypothesis" was realized at the Palace of Science, the first within the "Hypothesis" cycle, which explores the relationship between art and science.

For all those who did not have the opportunity to visit the exhibition, but also for those who want a deeper understanding of the exhibited works, transcripts of two guided tours through the exhibition with Ana Ereš, the author of the exhibition catalogue, and the artists are available - guided tours with Ana Ereš and Nemanja Nikolić and guided tours with Ana Ereš, Ivan Šuletić and Marko Marković.

Through discussion, the participants opened the key topics of the exhibition:
– how digitally generated images are translated into manual painting practice, as in the works of Ivan Šuletić, who explores the relationship between the "false image" and our perception of reality,
– how architecture can be transformed into sculpture through a system and module, as in the work of Marko Marković, who starts from the façade of the General Staff building and develops his own "axiom" of sculpture,
– how the landscape turns into a space of conceptual struggle between figuration and abstraction, as in the case of Nemanja Nikolić, whose works introduce Malevich's black square into the contemporary context of crisis and the future.

The transcripts reveal the broader context of the exhibition: art as a process of research. A special value is given to professional guided tours by the direct voice of the artists, who talk about their own dilemmas, methods and motivations — from working with artificial intelligence and media images, to mathematical principles in sculpture and personal attitude towards the image as a task and meditation.

Through the "Hypotheses" series, the Palace of Science supports works that have a deep theoretical foundation and that force us to look at the world analytically, just like scientists.
